3 things to do in Waiheke in 2023

There are many reasons to visit Waiheke. The island is full of life and activities that can lead all visitors to a very good time anywhere around. We selected 3 special ones to tell you more about.

Waiheke Jazz Festival

Waiheke loves art! So if you were expecting a music event to take place and figure out the list of things to do in Waiheke in 2023, you've got what you wanted.

The Waiheke Jazz Festival is set to happen on Ester, in a four-day event from April 7 to 10, with shows happening in different places around the island:

  • Batch Winery;
  • Cable Bay Vineyard;
  • Allpress Olive Groves;
  • Artworks Theatre Oneroa.

Amongst the attractions are names such as the Good Friday Groove and the Space Waltz. Notice you need to buy tickets to each event you would like to attend, so make sure to plan yourself ahead as there are usually limited seats available.

Food and Wine Festival

The Food and Wine Festival is a different kind of opportunity to enjoy a few of the best things Waiheke has to offer. In a three-day event and 10+ vineyards, you can taste some great wine, fine food alongside on-display art and live music.

Happening in May, from the 19th to the 21st, the festival only allows guests over 18 years old and gives you these options:

  • Three-Day Pass;
  • One-Day Pass;
  • Sober Driver Pass.

The Three-Day Pass grants access to the entire event and includes a passport with tastings and food pairings at all the 10+ vineyards and venues, a Fullers360 Waiheke return ferry ticket valid for one year, and a 3-day Explorer Hop-On Hop-Off Bus pass.

The One-Day Pass is for Friday or Sunday and includes a passport with tastings and food pairings at four vineyards and venues, the Fullers360 ticket, and a 1-day Explorer Hop-On Hop-Off Bus pass.

And the Sober Driver Pass is an option that excludes the ferry and bus pass and is valid for those who have a designated sober driver.

All of the passes grant entry to a live performance party with the LatinSka band Radio Rebelde.
